Guernsey : Guernsey is just 20 miles from the Continent but has long been part of the British Isles. Its main town is St Peter Port on the east coast with excellent shopping, good restaurants and many Georgian and Regency properties. With a mild climate in winter and good summer temperatures it is a popular place to retire and prices reflect this in the open market where there may be only a hundred or so properties on the market at any one time.
