Retirement Properties Spotlight in Northfleet

Northfleet is about two miles west of Gravesend and was mentioned in Domesday as Norfluet . The area close to the river was settled in Roman times and Watling Street was close-by. Flint was found in the fields and the area became famous for Gun Flint manufacture and later local supplies of chalk led to the cement industry being established in the19th century.
