Further Information

Epsom is an old market town mentioned in Domesday as having two churches and two mills. The local springs gave rise to ‘Epsom Salts‘ due to their medicinal properties in the eighteenth century. Epsom is famous for the Derby which has been run here since 1780. The Epsom Downs racecourse is just south east of the town from where an old bridleway leads for five miles towards Box Hill.

The Rainbow Leisure Centre and Chessington World of Adventures Theme Park and Zoo are also both within easy reach.

Situation

Oakmead Green is conveniently situated in an open setting on the approaches to Epsom close to shops and the Green Belt. The railway station is nearby across the A24.

Town

Home to the famous racecourse, Epsom has a fine selection of shops and out of town superstores. The Ashley Shopping Centre has many of the major retail outlets whilst nearby Kingston and Sutton have excellent alternatives. Horton Country Park and Epsom Common offer a wide variety of leisure opportunities.

Communications
