Heston : Heston is about 12 miles southwest of London just below the M4 and to the north of Hounslow. It recieved its first charter in the early 12th century and was known as Hestine meaning enclosed settlement. For many years it remained a small farming community and then in the 1920's the Great West Road was opened and the area expanded considerably.
