Retirement Properties Spotlight in Belper

Belper : Belper lies on the River Derwent in the Amber Valley about eight miles north of Derby and a Roman Kiln was found here in the 20th century. From the 13th century there were iron forges in Belper and the village expanded in the middle ages with growth accelerated by the cotton mills developed by Richard Arkwright. Belper remained a textile centre into the 20th century.
