Walton-on-the-Naze is a small seaside family resort with sandy beeches about a mile north of Frinton-on-Sea. Its pier at nearly half a mile long is the second largest in England and was rebuilt after the first pier proved to be too short and destroyed in a storm. At the height of its popularity the town was well known for its sea holly and this was sold for its supposed aphrodisiac qualities.
